Why would I choose to go with a company rather than on my own?
Ah, good question. Individuals, groups and families choose to travel with us for many different reasons: for the enjoyment of being guided, to have a supported trip and leave the details and the cooking to us, to participate with new friends, to meet new people who like the outdoors, and to learn new skills. Most people discover the healing quality of our adventures and even just being on our land.
What kind of shape do I need to be in for your trips?
You do not need to be in great physical condition to thoroughly enjoy your time in the wilderness. We adapt our trips to your individual physical fitness level. We do have boats that can be fitted for adaptive needs. Distances traveled will vary depending on what you can do physically. We adjust paddling distances based on how far you want to travel and what you can accomplish physically without injury. We will also work to connect you with people with similar physical capabilities. The level of instruction provided will vary depending on your individual experience.
I don’t like camping! Do you have any trips for me?
We certainly do. All of our trips may be customized to include accommodations at area B&Bs as well as camping in conditions that range from primitive to rustic cabins, We also offer a few trips that feature accommodations at indoor lodging.
I want to really push myself. What do you suggest?
Our trip design is highly flexible, allowing you to choose for yourself exactly how much you want to do. Let’s create a trip for you and others who also want to push. Call us at 1-802-333-3549 to check with us for what is currently happening. Most trips may have options for those who want to push and those who do not.
What if I’m the oldest/youngest/heaviest/least in shape?
You might be. Someone has to be the oldest/youngest/heaviest/least in shape person on the trip. But it doesn’t matter if you’re “different” in any of those ways; We can make it work. What you will share with everyone else is a desire to experience adventure in your life.
What kind of food can I expect? What if I have dietary restrictions?
Our food is always hearty and delicious; Camping trips are mostly vegetarian, with a wholesome balanced diet. We can also cook non-vegetarian. Let us know your dietary restrictions and we will work with you to create a satisfying and delightful meal plan.
